Green Hill 150th Anniversary Year-Long Celebration Launched

Beatlemania Again Opened the festivities

In celebration of the 150th Anniversary of Green Hill, The National Touring Beatles Stage Show BEATLEMANIA AGAIN was held at Green Hill in West Orange, on Sunday June 7th. The concert was the first in a series of free events and concerts at the senior residence leading up to the 150th anniversary gala to be held in April 2016.

Under a sunny sky with a cool breeze blowing across the twelve acre property, Green Hill elders and West Orange residents rocked out together to iconic Beatle tunes, and enjoyed Strawberry Fields cookies and Yellow Submarine lemonade.

The next free concert, Motown Remembered will be held October 11th, and will include signature non-alcoholic drinks, desserts, raffles and give a ways. Check the Green Hill web site at for more information.

In addition to the launch of the music series, the historical wall has been completed in the Legacy Building. The display includes photos, paintings, news clippings, invitations and annual reports from 150th years of Green Hill operations from its inception as the Society of Relief for Respectable Aged Women, to the merger with the Home for the Incurables and Convalescents, to reincorporation as the Memorial Center for Women, and finally of the purchase of Green’s Hotel and the name change to Green Hill.

The grand finale of the 150th Anniversary year will be the 150th Anniversary Gala to be held on April 28th 2016. Details are being developed for a wondrous evening filled with reminiscence from Green Hill’s past and the exciting plans for Green Hill’s future.
