Intergenerational event welcomed hundreds of family members to honor grandparents.
On Sunday Sept 8th at 1pm the annual Grandparents Day event was held at Green Hill Inc., in West Orange. The carnival atmosphere with a Candyland theme was enhanced by the perfectly sunny and breezy weather, and the giant lollipop decorations on the 20 acre sculptured property and around the Green House Homes neighborhood.
Residents and hundreds of their family members and staff enjoyed live entertainment- featuring a DJ and accordion player, a petting zoo & pony Rides, a Caricaturist, Balloon Artist, face painter, Carnival Games, Candy Art, Tattoos, and manicures as the festivities were enjoyed.
“We have had Grandparents day at Green Hill for the past 32 years,” said Resident Concierge Mandy Zucarelli. “It is a great intergenerational event that lets families, elders and staff celebrate the day together. We have the whole activity department and leadership team here to help set up and run the day. Staff from other departments also come & bring their families. This year we had over 200 people- including staff, elders & families. Its one of our favorite days of the year.”
